Retirement TestimonialsRetirement can be a scary but very exciting and challenging time. We faced the fact almost five years ago that Dallas had gotten too expensive to keep living there without continuing our jobs. The taxes and insurance on our house and business had tripled and the latest hail storm had ruined our roof, broken skylights, and dented our van. Our daughter in Greeneville had found a great house for us and after lots of emails and two trips to bring our other truck and travel trailer, we closed on our house here, sold the Dallas house, closed our business, loaded our cats in the van and headed for Greeneville. When we left Dallas that July morning it was 105 degrees, so what a wonderful weather difference in Greeneville. Camping and fun with the family outdoors has been a big plus. Our cost of living is so much less and although we found we like to stay busy and took part time jobs, it also has been a great help with extra expenses and we also have made so many new friends. It is hard to leave all your friends and neighbors behind but found it easy to stay in touch and visit them while enjoying our new ones here. Medical and dental questions here were answered quickly by a great group of caring doctors, dentists, and hospitals that saw me through a serious illness and surgery.
For us, Greeneville has been a wonderful answer to our retirement questions and makes our life so much simpler in a small, friendly town environment.

My husband and I retired to the Greeneville area 10 years ago from Texas. We love the area and think it is so beautiful. I have become involved in several organizations and through these I have met some wonderful people. The people in Greene County are very friendly and helpful people. The move for us has been one that we have never regretted.
