Gray Fossil Site and Museum

The Gray Fossil Site was discovered in 2000 and is considered the most significant North American site from the Miocene Age four million years ago. At that time the area was home to rhinos, tapirs, saber-toothed cats, alligators, shovel-tusked elephants and red pandas. This site contains the world's richest deposit of fossilized tapirs.

Hale Springs Inn

The Inn on the southwest corner of the Courthouse Square in Rogersville was built in 1824. It is the oldest continuously operated inn in Tennessee. Three United States presidents, Jackson, Polk, and Johnson, and numerous other dignitaries have stayed within these walls. The inn contains many original paintings and antiques from the mid-1820s and early 1830s. Self-guided tours are available for the entire inn including all guest rooms not occupied.
